February 10, 2002

wow, it's been a long time since i have been in here, huh? I actually did try to update a few days ago but i lost it all and did not feel like going back over everything again. so you are just gonna get the short form and you are just gonna have to deal with it, especially now that it is 11pm on sunday night and i still don't have any clean laundry and i have to get up early to get to work and stay there all damn day getting ready for inventory. Forgive my crankiness. Here we go:

tues night i had the dinner with the bookstore managers, it was a good dinner and i always end up liking my job more after hanging out with other people who do the same job. but it didn't last too long.

wednesday i worked and then i got picked up by the guitar artist and we got some dinner at boston market, and went to his place and looked at all the art and ate the dinners and drank some beers and spent a lot of time just talking, being mellow, and then my honeygirl came to kidnap me and we hung out there for a while and it was all happy times. and then thursday i worked again and then came home and watched the end of WILDE, which was very enlightening indeed, and then i went to the pub to see some rock and drink some beers, and i got to sit on a barstool between my two favorite gunslingers and i was in H-E-A-V-E-N, and i was told by faveboy that he has ordered for me a birthday present which is coming across the sea on a boat, which was exciting and good, and also that the brains can not play the new wave cabaret, which was totally BAD, and then i got to hear some good good rockin from boombox and choke city, and some bad freakout from the pittsburgh sound, and then i had to get the hell out of there when it became obvious to me that the whole thing was a personal attack(OK, it wasn't really, but when they chose sheila e, INXS, and Wham! for their first three covers to massacre i felt like someone had it out for me) then it was finally friday and i worked again and then i met some LUPEC ladies(and lil sis J*!) for Cuban month festivities at Kaya. the people who run that place have a thing or two to learn about throwing a cuban month, lemmetellya. when i had to argue with the waitress about whether or not it was possible to make a dacquiri without a frozen mix i knew i was in the wrong place. but we perservered, got our drank on, and had a nice time. Dark and Stormy showed up round about 8 and she and J* and I went back to my place for a little preparty drankin and chattin. Once we were all sparklin and ready to dance from the BEE GEES infusion, we headed over to the house with the golden door with our bottles of booze in hand. We commandeered the livingroom for dancers and cool people and we barely left it all night long. It was an awesome dance party ,and it was great in that not many of the losers and uncool people ventured into the sacred dance space. mostly just people who were down with dancin or at least watchin the dancin hung out in the livingroom dance area. my favorite boy was bustin some serious moves, and i got to get my groove on with him for a good long while and it was so very nice. brandy was in the hizzouse and i was dirty dancin up on the girls and giving the boys a hard time and generally being the dance party coquette i love to be. i took some kitchen breaks for water and conversation and a little bit of sweet sweet lovin, and it was all good. i was feelin like many trillions of dollars. my honeygirl was sexy in her butchest tshirt and hole-y jeans and crash helmet and drunken cuteness, and some very dirty dancin ensued. it was all about the wild thang, and even though i knew i had to go to erie and make a record the next morning, i did not give in until after 3am and drinking about half a liter of brandy. la la la.

and some wild times were had. in other words let's refresh your head. about pullin' down curtains and breakin' da waterbed. a hem.

and then it was morning and time to drive to erie and make a record. my bassman and i were real late, and we knew we were, but there it is. and we got there and set stuff up and then it was time for a basketball game, and a trip to the porn store, and a nap. and then everyone was back and then the music started and it was a five hour throw it in the can odyssey--all the basic tracks were done by 10pm and we went out for some late night food at the new york lunch counter, with blaring white lights and weird music on the jukebox. and then home for chicken run and more sleepin and there was a little party even as i slept away on the couch . and then in the morning there was donuts and coffee and then vocals, and it was all smooth as silk and came together like magic, and then the final listen and then some boys left and then some of us went to the weird italian buffet and then back on the road, late night drivin in the rain and talk of midlife crisis, and depressing political conversation, and i was starting to be brung down but also realizing that in general life is good good good.

and now i am home, and i am missing my peoples so much, and i cant wait to hear about everyones weekend and tell about mine and i hope that the inventory thing is over quickly and painlessly, relatively, because once it is over then the real fun begins. celebratory sushi, i am talkin bout. blow out rock show, concrete blonde, and more blow out rock. cat sittin at j*'s place. somewhere in there i might even do laundry.

the world is my oyster..
