August 10, 2002

It's another saturday in bookstore land. Today I am arranging the quickstudy guides in their proper departments. Then I think I will receive some textbooks. Hopefully it will continue to be S--L--O--W so I can leave early. That is the perogative of the manager who is working six days a week.

Sigh.

Last night was a grand party at Garfield for the Sarrogit girls. Herbs and Spices provided a selection of SPREADABLES to go atop breadworks bread. It was a good spread and the folks seemed to dig it. There was some trouble with the keg which my honeygirl attempted to fix with her myriad skills but in the end they had to go and get a whole new keg. There were photographs and installations and later Lorelei played and it was a beautiful night. Good good times.

Then we went to a ROOFTOP party in Lawrenceville. That was something. Made me long for my own rooftop for partyin. Ah well, the porch will do just fine, once it is clean, especially with my new BAYOU COOKER. A giant cast iron cauldron which turns into a grill. I am such a happy girl. Grilled beets with goat cheese will soon be mine. UMMMMM...

And previously, I rentedCAFE FLESH. What a scream. I think I am going to buy it---although it was a rental copy, there is a $19.95 price tag on it. I am sure I will watch it enough to make it worth the $19.95. Really, if I was going to make porn, this is the movie I would want to make. It was sort of like a long kinky Robert Palmer video.

And so tonight, my dears, is the Working Poor show at Gooskis. All new lineup. Angelic harmonies. Hank Williams style songwriting. And a shiny aluminum stand up bass. I can not wait.
