The thanksgiving week is upon us! I can not tell you how very thrilled I am. My favorite week of the year, in that it always consists of two sort of lame do nothing days at work and then FIVE DAYS OFF IN A ROW. Did you hear that? FIVE DAYS OFF IN A ROW. Traditionally I have done a great job of not thinking about work for one minute during those five days. I have accomplished this mostly by staying inebriated from 6:15pm Tuesday until 7pm Sunday. I plan to keep up the tradition this week, although given my new SIDE JOB I will have to curb the inebriation around 2am Sunday, so as to be pliable enough to make a special Mexican Brunch on Sunday morning at the Quiet Storm. But still, basically four days of inebriation lie in wait. Hee hee hee.

Wednesday I may take a break from consuming alcohol in order to see the new movie about FRIDA KAHLO. I have heard mixed reviews, but I have seen a clip wherein Selma Hayek in her guise as Frida plants one on another mexican gal and that is certainly advertisement enough for me.

Thursday I plan to consume alcohol while simultaneously making pumpkin pies, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, and green bean casserole. Herbie is going to handle the turkey and a host of other less traditional and more funky side dishes. Then we will sit down to our bountiful dinner, and drink alcohol, and then watch URGH A MUSIC WAR and THE FORBIDDEN ZONE. Additionally, many cigarettes and probably other things will be smoked. My artist buddy Thanksgiving host and I went shopping last night. We secured the necessary items for bloody marys and the all important bloody mary go withs----chikinabiscuit and potted cheese product. It is gonna be a monster thanksgiving. My honeygirl has agreed to supply the elephant malt liquor, also traditional for the holiday. And I think there will be wine as well.

Holy mackerel!

Friday I have no plans but to consume alcohol. Maybe I will clean my fridge.

Saturday I will consume some alcohol, probably go out to breakfast, and do my Mexican brunch shopping and prep. And then consume some more alcohol at the Lorelei/Boombox show at Gooskis. Where I hope to finally see all the people I love whom I have not seen in what seems like months.

Then Sunday, the brunch, and then maybe a little more alcohol before I have to sober up for faculty staff appreciation day.

Oh goodness. I gotta bake cookies.

see ya'll on the flipside!

Ps can I just say how cool it is that today in my email box I had not one but THREE notes from friends who have just bought houses or are similarly changing address/movin on up? Hoorah for change! hoorah for growth!
